Utilizing Amazon Kindle links for all countries.

If your books are available on Amazon, you should make sure you're correctly linking to them on all the available Amazon sites. (Yes, I'm guilty of that, too, and need to add the additional sites to my own listings. Right now, all I have listed are the US and UK stores.)

There is a quick and easy (and free) way to do this. The different stores each have different suffixes. The main US store is amazon.com, of course. And the UK store is amazon.co.uk.

Etc. There are (as of this writing) 13 Kindle stores.
  • US: www.amazon.com
  • UK: www.amazon.co.uk
  • Canada: www.amazon.ca
  • Australia: www.amazon.com.au/
  • Japan: www.amazon.co.jp/
  • Mexico: www.amazon.com.mx/
  • Brazil: www.amazon.com.br/
  • Germany: www.amazon.de/
  • France: www.amazon.fr
  • Italy: www.amazon.it/
  • Spain: www.amazon.es/
  • India: www.amazon.in/
  • Netherlands: www.amazon.nl/

If you are the one who published/self-published the electronic version, then you can log into KPD and get the e-book links right there on your dashboard, in Bookshelf.

If you are only the author, but not the publisher, keep reading.

Every item on Amazon is identified by a number, an ASIN. For example, my book, Hot Sauce, is B0125JNWYO.

So here are what the links for this item look like in the various stores:

  • US: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Canada: http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Australia: http://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Japan: http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Mexico: http://www.amazon.com.mx/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Brazil: http://www.amazon.com.br/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Germany: http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • France: http://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Italy: http://www.amazon.it/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Spain: http://www.amazon.es/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • India: http://www.amazon.in/dp/B0125JNWYO/
  • Netherlands: http://www.amazon.nl/dp/B0125JNWYO/
So when you start creating your buy links on your pages for your books (you have those directly linked on your website/blog, right? Riiiiggghhttt???) you can include ALL the stores. (Double-check your links to make sure they're correct when you post them.)

And it's that easy. You can make yourself a blank template for your buy links, so that once you have the ASIN number, you can simply drop it into place and then post it to your website.

Don't forget, you can also claim your author page on many of those foreign stores, too, making it easier for foreign readers to find all your books in one place.
